Four weeks ago I started my skincare journey with Environ and Beauty Bulletin – trialling out two of their products from their anti-aging Youth Care+ Range in the #focusonflawlesssa campaign – the Tri BioBotanical Revival Masque and the Vita-Antioxidant Hydrating Oil Capsules. The focus of these products is to improve signs of aging with the powerful formula of Vitamin A, as developed by Plastic Surgeon, Des Fernandes. So, how did they fair?
At the age of 33, a Momma of two, burning the midnight oil on more than one project, I was thrilled to give these products a go. A sucker for a good skincare brand, Environ was one of the first luxe skincare lines I spent my own money on once I had started working. My biggest skincare concerns are the fine lines on my forehead (comes with being an expressive person!), the elasticity of the skin under my eyes (not to mention the dark circles that coffee can’t fix and makes worse) and the dry patches/rough texture of the skin on my right cheek.
Youth Care+ Tri BioBotanical Revival Masque
This Environ product has been dubbed a ‘facelift in a jar’ – of which I will happily attest to. The Masque has been specially formulated with three (Tri) powerful active ingredients to enhance the skin’s appearance and feel, tightening it with a smoother (and younger) looking radiant finish. My favourite thing about this product? The pump action dispenser! I’d apply this product twice times a week, in the beginning only for 15 minutes at a time, until by the end of the second week, where I could sleep with it on overnight to give my skin a little extra TLC. The product look and packaging is beautiful, although being 100% opaque makes gauging how much product is left, impossible. I found the formula to be revolutionary, however the smell is reminiscent of self-tan to me, unfortunately. Would I repurchase this? Yes. The product left my skin feeling youthful, and definitely had a tightening appearance for me and improved my skin tone on the right hand side of my face, where I needed it the most. It’s important to note the Masque contains alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA’s), so extreme caution in the sun must be taken. Luckily this isn’t an issue for me as I detest being in the sun, but for all of your sun worshippers, you need to take heed to the caution it comes with.
Environ Focus Care Moisture+ Vita-Antioxidant Hydrating Oil Capsules
Environ lists the benefits of this product as “assists in softening and moisturizing the skin, leaving it looking revitalized and radiant”; “contains antioxidants that are proven to combat the visible signs of aging” and “leaves a luxurious soft and silky after-feel”. This was the product I was most excited about trying, however I was left feeling a little longing. I found the texture of these little oil capsules to be just that, somewhat oily and a little too rich for my skin. I found that whilst the tiny capsule had enough product to cover my full face and neck, it took so long for the product to penetrate my skin that I was left feeling oily. I don’t think 10 capsules is enough to do this trial any justice, so perhaps reviewing it on 10 is not a fair assessment, so all I can comment on is the first impression. I did prefer the smell of these to the Revival Masque. Would I repurchase? From the 10 capsules I have used, sadly it’s a no.
Overall thoughts of the two products I tried:
My favourite of the two was by far the Tri BioBotanical Revival Masque (who doesn’t love a good masque?) and this is one I would repurchase without hesitation. Selling at around the R1000 mark for the Masque, it is a worthy investment, with a little of the product going a long way. For 30 Vita-Antioxidant Hydrating Oil Capsules at R730, I can’t really attest to this as I only had 10 to review and perhaps the full 30 may have yieded their desired results and my skin would felt a true difference, I find my current Serum more complimentary, but what I really do want to try from Environ’s Youth Care+ range is their Peptide Enriched Frown Serum (solving my expressive problems!) – it looks amazing, straight onto my ever-growing Wishlist!
Overall, Environ is a much loved and trusted product, although not all the products I’ve used have been a good match for me, skincare is very unique and personal, and what I didn’t enjoy about the Oil Capsules is not indicative of how your journey could be.
Have you tried any of these products from Environ? If you have, I’d love to know your experience with them
