Baking with Soph – Pillsbury Red Velvet Mug Cakes

Mother’s Day is literally a few days away, Dads, so why not surprise the Momma in your life with a showstopping Red Velvet Mug Cake in bed, made all the easier by Pillsbury!? With just over 2 minutes in the microwave, how simple is that – add some Ready-to-Spread Cream Cheese Frosting on top and a smattering of sprinkles and there you have it – a masterpiece for Mom!

Ingredients:

1 x box Pillsbury Red Velvet Cake Mix

(250ml Water, ½ cup Oil, 2 Eggs)

1 x tub Pillsbury Ready-to-Spread Cream Cheese Frosting

Sprinkles to decorate

Method:

  1. Mix up Red Velvet Cake Mix, Eggs, Oil and Water as per box instructions.
  2. Prepare your mugs, greased, and then pour in the ready Cake Mix, filling your mugs to the halfway mark and bake in the microwave on high (*dependent on your microwave) for 2 and ½ minutes.
  3. Once baked and cooled, fill a piping bag with the Pillsbury Ready-to-Spread Frosting that has been slightly chilled (using a wide tip) and pipe some frosting on top, finishing off with some sprinkles – the perfect Mother’s Day treat for Mommy! How easy was that, it’ll be a cinch for Dad to whip up with the kids!
